| A GREAT- LOOKING OLDER LADY I wrote the poem below for Anna's 13th birthday, May 3, 2005. |
My Birthday and My Life as Told by Anna By Sybil Vaughn On the third of May in 2005 they say I will be the ripe old age of thirteen But I can still move really well and Mommy says my looks are very keen; I don?t know how old this is in human years since Silkies may live longer Than some other canines, because our little bodies are built so much stronger. Three years ago I came to live with Misty, once my niece but now my little sister, A different home from where I lived before, at first my mind felt all a-twister. There I lived with Cindy and other Silkies, and had puppies and went to show; Here I am Mommy's little sidekick and sleep on a people bed, not bad you know. I try to be boss but that brat little sister is bigger and flies to the top step to roar, I have taught her to be scared of me though, a help when guarding my treat store. Misty acts weird when she runs with her toys and shakes them in a certain way, I've never cared much for toys because I always had Cleo and other Silkies to play. Cindy told Mommy that I am the smallest of my litter, sometimes called a runt, But I learned to be brave and assert my rights among my siblings, no small stunt. She even said I was like that bunny who never stops and I was too cute in a ring, So I earned some points and awards and became a CH, so I am fit for a king. Adding credits, I had puppies who became another champion or a precious pet, My work that way is done; it's their turn to produce more quality, they can I bet. I am retired so now I can enjoy just being cute, following my Mommy around, Chasing rabbits and squirrels across the yard, and enjoying the good life I found. |

| Mom, quit teasing me with that pig ear; just give it to me. |
| Mom, cut it out with that flashing thing! |
