Luke 2:11
We get so caught up and stressed out in shopping for just the right gifts, baking more than anyone should ever
eat, preparing our feasts, and getting together with our families.  These things in
themselves are not bad, but we place too much importance on them.

We need to concentrate most on the reason for the season.  It's a celebration of Christ's birthday,
of his coming into the world to save us from our sins.
I enjoy pretty and tasteful decorations.  We don't put up anything outside since
we are older and that's a lot of trouble.  I do try to decorate inside the house.
Below are a few pictures from this year.
Joey and Misty visit the Petsmart Santa for pictures.  The money goes to Petsmart
Charities which supports homeless shelter animals.  and yes Santa can have a part
in Christmas as an ambassador of love and goodwill as long as we recognize
that it's not about Santa, it's about Christ's birthday.

When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold,
there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born
King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship
him........And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary
his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their
treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.   Matthew
