First Flowers Early Spring |

| I mostly grow perinnials; since they come back every year, they don't require as much work. I like the kind that are easy to grow and are showy. Sometimes I supplement the perinnials with annuals in pots. Digital photography has added such a wonderful dimension to our lives. I love taking pictures of flowers as well as other things and experimenting with editing software. |
| End of March and early April 2007 The first flowers begin to sprout and bloom, a welcome sign that the long harsh winter is coming to an end: hyacinths and a few daffodils. The forsythia bushes bloom about the same time, before their leaves grow in. After the first flowers began to bloom, we had a cold snap and some snow. |

| Late April 2007 The snow disappeared and the temps climbed some. Most of the daffodils showed off their beauty as well as a few more hyacinths. I had planted a few more of each last fall; they did rather well. Daffodils are my favorite flowers. |
