After losing my precious little 14 year old Silky
Terrier, Anna on May 8 2006, I was totally devastated and so
was 6 year-old Misty.  She was moping around and would hardly eat;
she did not understand what happened to her buddy Anna.

After a few days I kept thinking about my friend Sherry Rife in New
Market,  Iowa who raises and shows Weimaraners and has two
of the Silky terriers from Cindy Friant who also bred Misty and Anna.

One of Sherry's dogs is my Anna's son Joey who is about the same age
as Misty.  Sherry showed Joey in numerous dog shows and he earned six
points toward his conformation title but seemed to get stuck there
because he did not like being in the show ring.

Sherry had mentioned last year that she did not plan on showing Joey
again because he gets too traumatized.  She also said she had wondered
if he would be better off with a family who wanted a pet.

Sherry and husband Kurt spend many hours training their show dogs
and traveling with them to shows.  Since Joey is not being shown, that
meant he would not get as much attention and since Sherry wanted the
best for little Joey, she pondered what to do but did not have the heart to
give him up unless she was really sure about the person getting him.

Shortly after Anna's passing, I sent Sherry an email asking whether
she was still thinking about placing Joey with a "pet family" and if so,
did she think he would make a good companion for Misty?

Sherry replied back that she had considered asking
me  but wanted to wait for the right time.

On Friday May 26, 2006, my Anna's son Joey came to live with me.
He is a little sweetheart and so cute.   Now Misty's time and interests
are occupied and she is eating again and I am truly blessed.
God certainly had a hand in working this out.
