At the back of the yard are purple wild flowers
growing around a tree near the fence.  They were
planted there by the former property owner.  These
were blooming the day we closed on the house.

Irises blooming in front of the house where the
tulips bloomed a few weeks ago.  Notice the bright
early morning sun in the first two pictures below.
The gold stella del oro day lillies are just
starting to bloom.

The last picture in this group is a different variety
that produces smaller blooms.

Irises beside the house.
In the first picture on the left you can see
the two of the peony bushes behind the
irises; they are loaded with blooms
just about ready to open.  Ah anticipation!

A different kind of iris that I bought and planted
last fall.  They look almost like gladiolus.
and yes I know, not all of them are purple;
the purple ones all bloomed first, then the
others bloomed a few days later.
