Halona Blow Hole

When the wind is just right and
the high tide is in,
the water blows up through holes
in the rock
with a majestic force.
Millie and me at the blow hole
lookout.   It is a popular tourist
attraction, but it did not blow
while we were there.

Below is a shot of the beach
from the lookout.
The background for this page is a shot of the ocean I took while we were driving along the road.
To the right - another scene
while we were driving along.

Below is an uninhabited
Hawaiian island called
the Chinaman's Hat.
The Makaha Beach is popular
with the surfers.  There wasn't
much of a surf the day we
were there.   Lots of loose
sand made walking a little
difficult, especially if
you are unaccustomed
to it.
