Shirley and husband Tom had talked it over and
decided it was time for them to leave their everyday
jobs so they could travel. They have a home in
Florida as well as a very nice motor home which
they use to see different parts of the country.

It was with mixed emotions that Shirley turned
in her resignation. Her work in the human
resource department touched most of the
employees at Formax and she has many
friends among her co-workers.

However she and hubby desired
a more flexible lifestyle where they could
enjoy things they really like to do while they
still have the health and the means.
For them it would be a new beginning.

Several of us ladies wanted
to put together something to
give her a great send-off, so
we had a meeting one
afternoon to make our plans,
then we worked for the next
few days to make
it all come together.

That morning, an unexpected meeting was held in the conference room we were using
so we had to scramble to decorate and get everything ready.

Shirley's boss told her they had to see
Mary Therese in accounting about a
payroll issue. Mary Therese told John
and Shirley she wanted me involved and
that I was in the conference room.
A bunch of us were in the room hiding
with the blinds drawn.
