| Christmas Day is fast approaching, such joy does abound, The time when we celebrate the cherished Savior’s birth! What a glorious wonder in our Maker and Redeemer we found That God loves us so much He came in person to the earth! Holy and marvelous, the Emmanuel child unto Mary was born, Virgin birth miracle that never before nor since was seen. His virtuous presence, even as a baby, the stable did adorn While angels sang His praise, an event stirring yet serene. When the wise men heard it, they hurried with gifts to seek The King God promised to the Jews; Him they wanted to hail. Jesus’ cause in coming down? To gather to Himself the meek, To pay our sin debt on the cross, for good works only fail. While He lived here on earth, He taught by perfect example What to do and how to act in every situation that’s faced. He had no easy life even though the devil He could trample, He honored and loved all people, their past sins He erased. He has gone to prepare for His children mansions of gold. Soon He’ll come to amass all who accept Him in their heart To take us to that place of peace and harmony as foretold, A free gift, to live with Him in heaven, never to depart. |
