I was born in Greenville and grew up in nearby Easley, in the rolling piedmont section of South Carolina at the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, part of the Appalachian Mountain chain. I was the youngest of three children, but my brother and sister were much older. They were out on their own when I was still very young so it seemed like I was an only child. |

I had wonderful Christian parents who practiced old fashioned standards and enjoyed the simple things in life. Dad worked long hours and Mom stayed at home running the house and taking good care of everyone At the age of eight, I remember very clearly the Lord dealing with me about my salvation. One evening I went to my mom and told her that I wanted to get saved. We knelt by my bed and I asked Jesus to come into my heart. When I say that I am a Christian, I do not mean that I am religious and I am not bragging. I am a sinner saved by grace; salvation is a free gift to all those who will receive it. Also I am certainly not perfect by any means. Walking with the Lord and having Him to depend on through it all means so much; family and friends may disappoint you, but the Lord will always be there. |
